Mithun Chokroborty and Jaya Prada pitch very good performances. Some of the songs are annoying but I like the title song and 'Daddy Yaad Aati Hai' has been a favourite since childhood.

The story does make sense despite its flaws. However, these flaws can easily be overlooked as compared to a majority of studio-backed films of that decade, 'Pyaar Ke Do Pal' is a step in the right direction.

Plot holes are also apparent and there are plenty of sappy moments. For example, the lighting and sound effects are poor and the Lalita Pawar and Bindu characters are caricatures. Now considering that it's an 80's Bollywood flick, there are many flaws were the technical aspect and writing are concerned. Based on 'Das Doppelte Lottchen', the film may have a dated look but I still find it highly enjoyable and much more preferable to other supposed remakes like the awful 'The Parent Trap' or the amateurish 'Kuch Khatti Kuch Meethi'. Rajiv Mehra's 'Pyaar Ke Do Pal' is a childhood favourite of mine.
